One of Basketball’s First Superstars
Dolph Schayes forged a Hall of Fame career with grit, hustle, and his private calling card — the 2-handed set shot. Certainly one of basketball’s first superstars, Patong Palace Hotel Pattaya he joined the pro ranks in 1948 — one 12 months earlier than the beginning of the NBA — and retired in 1964 after sixteen seasons with the Syracuse Nationals. Those that noticed him perform say that he was the Larry Chicken of his technology.
